I want to know why people love to have moutains covered in snow touching lakes and ocens. When this is impossible. I have studied mountain formations it just does not work. it LOOKS GREAT (sometimes) but it is really wierd and looks to me like it is untural. Why does everyone do it?

Why exactly is that impossible? Do you mean it's impossible for the snow to go all the way down to the ocean?

I have seen one or two examples of what you mean... but you already answered the question yourself, "It looks great!"... what more reason could you need? After all there are plenty of images here that are more unreal than just having snow in the wrong place... take your favorite artist moodflow, for example. I agree that there are plenty of great images by this artist, but they are hardly realistic. :-)

I live in the mountains and I can tell you that there are plenty of lakes and rivers that get snowed in along with the surrounding peaks in winter. As for the ocean, all you need do is poke around Canada or Scandinavia for a few weeks this time of year.

Check out some of Samarn's works. http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Gallery&author=samarn&page=1

I live in Montana and if you really think it's impossible for snow to touch the water, a visit here during winter would quickly get rid of your disbelief in nature's many possibilities.

Thanks for all the responses. But i think i was actually refering to lakes set up hihg between peaks like 800 feet snow touches those lakes and they have to be frozen at that altitude. Hey someone make a frozen lake surrounded by mountains peaks at 8000 feet.
I live in B.C. Canada so i have seeen wht you guys are talking about.
