.. i was just wondering if anyone else whould like to see something like this... the idea is to have an option to upload variations of an image.. onto the images original page... its easier to explain if i just show you... heres my minds eye of what the Image page might look like with a Variations section..... HERE

So what does anyone think?

Oooo - I like that idea Grim. I know that I have several images that I have/would like to have several variations of. I think having them on the same page is a good idea.

I actually had that idea a few months ago and started coding the script for it. For some reason I gave up on it. I think it was too complex and didn't really add enough value beyond just uploading different versions like you can now.

Well, now that I look at it I can see that it is a bit different than what I had done. I'm very interested in the idea. How do you propose that it would work exactly?

Yes an interesting thought. I am wondering too just how it would work, would the smaller images link to a seperate page where it would show that images seperate ratings, comments etc? Or would it just link to the full size image, and not have it's own seperate score?

well im not amazingly skilled at web design.... but here goes.. you upload you original image... there would be an "upload variation" option, like the edit and delete options on each image. the user would then be taken to the upload page..where they can upload a new variation..each variation can have it's own subtitle added onto the original image title... ie.. with my image i made.. if you clicked on the red variation it would take you to something that would look like this ... the only difference being the gallery option.. all variation images could exist in a seperate variation gallery... that isn't accessable from the main Galleries section but only via individual images and then acess is restricted to only the variations of that particular image. clicking on the thumbnail will open the image as current images open... every variation upload will still count towards your 24 hour total upload count.. hopefully the variations will be able to have C-index.. they should appear on your individual author gallery as seperate pictures...im not to sure on webdesign so i apologise for my rambbling explanation.. ive only made one website before.. but it was specifically about images and catagorising them but i made it all in dream weaver.. so i just sort of painted my whole website on the computer as oppsed to make scripts...so im not very up on the tech side of how it would all work...:D if this doesnt help.. please ask more and i can help confuse things even futher... im glad ive got pictures to back me up :D

Well I like the idea... probably because I am a bit of a neat freak, I love things to be organised and categorised.
