I'm doing a project for the local Tourism Association by designing an ad for them. They are going to have the ad professionally printed in a tourist guide or such. Now I've never done anything like this and I'm using Photoshop.
What I want to know is if it is a good idea to use the Bevel & Emboss + contour and Drop Shadow options on the heading text. It looks great on the PC, but I don't know how it will look in print. The printing will be done in color, and my printer is only black and white. So will it look as good when printed or not?
My suggestion if this is your first such brochure piece: go around to local businesses and tourism places and get as many brochurs as you can. Then pick out only the ones which look professional to you and then try to combine or mimic the style.
Thanx for the tip. That's what I'm doing. I'm just wondering about how the text would look with those options. Some of the brochures has something more or less the same.
I agree with Caedes but I find a good draw program such as coral draw is better suited for
Adds or brochures. They seem to have better lay out and text capabilities. Photo Shop works but not as well.
Well, I'm doing this as a favour to them, so I'm just gonna try my best. I've discovered that PS is very difficult to do layout in, but that's all I have available.
Try to see if there is any kind of draw program that ps can supply on there web site.maybe a plug-in. You can also edite you phoyos on Photoshop and go to microsoft publisher if you have that.either in work ocr office 2000. or if you know someone who has a copy. It work some what like corel draw.
Thanx for all the help guys. The place were they are going to print it needs the file in PS, i'm getting along quite nicely now. Samatar... I might just take you up on that offer!
