Ok, so I was going to render a new flame, and well, there's a BIG FRIKIN PROBLEM >_<
It's the Physical Memory thing, I used to have it @ a much higer number, I don't remember what it was, but now...it's down to 64 >_< :shakefist: How did this happen!? NEVER have I had this happen, at least that I remember of, but anyway, same settings for rendering were always used...and idk >_< anyone know what's going on!?
Every time you render does the number for your physical memory available go down ? If so....then yes, I've had the same exact problem, ever since Version C.
The only thing I can tell you is to save your parameter & close Apophysis down & try it later. When you shut down your computer & open it up again you should have more memory. This happens to me because I have a bad habit of leaving my computer on for days at a time & Apophysis open too.
Oh thanks...I hate that and never noticed a drop until today...from a 3 digit...maybe 100 something 200 something and now 64 >_< and i have left my comp on for days lol i'll give it a well deserved rest soon lol thanks Lauren!
Oh one more thing lol :D forgot to mention this before...my rendered images...well...they aren't in the same positions that I rendered them in...they scattered to the corners >_< anyone else have this problem?
Lauren .. Have you tried just closing the render window? .. maybe it's keeping some buffer of previous renders in memory
Andrew .. Apo has no memory of it's own .. there is JUST system memory .. do you have an inordinate amount of widgets going in your system tray .. like Barbie's Dressup Playhouse (minimized) .. open TASK MANAGER .. and look for stuff called . "I AM A VIRUS.exe" .. or .. BRBS DRSUP PLYHSE.exe
>_<
andrew vocabulary PLEASE!!!!! lol -scampers off to dictionary.com- :(
no to the inordinate one lol
the only program i have open while rendeirng is always windows media player...cause i hate slowing down renders cause that just pisses me off ;P
and i'll check for the task manager thing
no none of that stuff is running either...i reckon they're bad?
hey i talk like ohio ;P
No Keith, I haven't. Before Gary beefed up my computer & gave me more memory at one point it was getting pretty scary there. I don't know what this problem or what causes it, all I know is the only thing that helps is shutting down my computer.
And Andrew, no, I don't have this particular problem, at least not yet. * Knocks on wood *
sounds kinda like a prob we used to have on the mac side… back in the way old days… the system would save a bunch of temp files ".tmp" that was hard disk space it had used as memory… and then well… you'd have to go do a search and destroy mission after awhile…
You should get up to a 500 someting at least Andrew & my big scary problem with Apophysis 2.03c was I couldn't save parameters, so I always rendered when I saw something I liked. There were a couple times I rendered kinda small & sized up because it said I didn't have enough memory for a quality image.
I know for a fact Larry had the exact same problem, but I don't know if he does with the beta version or not.
And I didn't know you could just shut down the render window only...duh !
Ahoy there!...the bomb is for the blue people. (hmm, speaking of ahoy, that reminds me of chips ahoy...thus making me hungry....thus i will go downstairs to grab food...thus maybe i should eat lunch sometime...its 4:35...what shall i do?)
Try going into options then under the general tab you will see multithreading turn it off and see if that works.. I had the same trouble, rendering was taking forever, everything would just about freeze.. then a cute little baby with big ears and a propeller on his head flew by and told me to try that.. works great now... =)
A suggestion....Try clearing your cache . . dump the temporary files that accummulate over time. BTW, I have a great program called "WEBROOT WINDOW WASHER" that cleans up your computer. It cleans history, cache, etc. that clog up your system over time. I'm gonna try Jacqueline's suggestion on my next APO render as well, but we're talking about RAM here and anything that you have running that is using RAM will reduce the amount of memory you have available for APO renders. Wen
Oh, Jaqueline, runescape takes up very little of my computer's performance and it cant handle the extra rendering part....so its not really the internet. So i will say: i cant play halo3 at the same time i'm rendering. Haha, i really dont have halo3....well i do, its a pirated version that i havent used b/c i dont have enough video memory.
