Horsing Around-Chapter 40

Nothing expresses freedom like a unbridled horse running free. Nothing displays pride more than a head held high, a straight back and assuredness of gait. Nothing gives hope like the setting sun on a free nation. January 20, 2009--the United States of America takes an historic step into the future. The preservation of our children and their childrens way of life is at stake. History will judge if their future was safe.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. 1. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.– Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

Nearly eighty years ago we began by declaring that all men are created equal; but now from that beginning we have run down to the other declaration, that for some men to enslave others is a 'sacred right of self-government. ... Our republican robe is soiled and trailed in the dust. Let us repurify it. ...Let us re-adopt the Declaration of Independence, and with it, the practices, and policy, which harmonize with it. ... Another home run, Tick. The colors are great. The composition works perfect as a metaphor for our election in November and our Inauguration tomorrow. The painted horse's ability to prance forward with head held high reflects well on what our historic recent past will unveil to us and the world beginning tomorrow.

First off I had to fave this fantastic image. One of the true joys of life for me is too see a horse like this run free, an eagle soaring through the air. I get such a wonderful feeling when I witness such a sight. Tick your narrative was so perfect and very well timed. Tomorrow really does turn a big page in our history books. =^..^= Tigz

it's probably a strange comment but this photograph has a look of elegance to me. the posture of the horse is somewhat regal. the sky is rich with color. the open field completes the idea.

Wow..what a sky! The lighting is just unreal...you were definitely in the right place at the right time on this one. The comp is perfect and the timing with the horse is right on as well. A slight increase in contrast might put this over the top for me, but its great as it is. Very nicely done!!

Tick let me first start by saying BRAVO on the beautiful post. It was faved and by far your best work. Next let me say that it is a good thing you were not running for president. You speak so eloquently and speak for most of us common folk I would expect. You are right about America needing to get back to the foundation on which we were founded. Mr. O Bama is taking over at a very bleak time in our history and the only way he will succeed is if he seeks guidance from God and every man, woman and child in America backs him 100%. Beautiful image Tick, and a beautiful sentiment. The world is watching your new President. I can't help wondering what it's like to be him and hoping that all the hype and expectation doesn't hamper him. As for the image, it has the kind of photographic quality that I aim for, with the horse beautifully in focus and picked out against the background. And what a background! Does this mean that your Canon is up and running again as well as your computer?

Bravo Ron, Bravo!!!....This is such a wonderful photo Mr TickTock! As you know we lease out some of our pasture to people who need a place for their horses..and it's always a joy to see them out my living room window across the way. Here in ORegon the wild horses still run in the Eastern part of Oregon, every July and August.
One day I shall go there and get all the wonderful photos I can muster!! I especially like the sunlight in your photo. Such a warm feeling and such a free feeling as well. Gorgeous colours.Thank you for a most beautiful view of freedom.

Everything about this picture is superb Ron and has been said above, but the little thing like the left leg of the horse is bending forward at just the right moment, giving the perfect stance for the photo. The background is a beauty too.
