Like everyone in the world I am moved and saddened by the recent tragedy in Connecticut. I can't imagine the pain and suffering that the families are experiencing during this Christmas season. I took this photo at my grandson's (6) Christmas program the night before the senseless shootings occurred. I was editing some of the photos when I heard the news on the TV. The classes involved in the program were: Preschool, Kindergarten, First and Second grades. The children pictured here are preschoolers. May God bless all during this time of sorrow.

Maybe this song will help our hearts heal.

A very beautiful tribute, Tick. My heart aches for the children ,those that we lost and those that survived , as well as all the families involved and for my country. I Pray that somehow they find Peace and the courage to go on . Your beautiful capture is a reminder of the innocence that many children no longer have . I just can't get my head around how something like this happens .
God's Blessings, Peace and Love to all .

It is good to see you posting .

Its a beautiful photo and a beautiful narrative Tick.
I believe when tragedies such as this happen, while our hearts ache so much for those affected we also are reminded of the preciousness of our own loved ones and make us want to gather them in our arms.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The pain of losing a child is almost unbearable and to lose one this way is unthinkable - as a nation we should all be weeping. Your image is heartbrakingly lovely with words that capture what many are feeling.

I know exactly what you mean, Ron. I was watching and listening to my great-niece's Christmas show the night before and the news and images on TV immediately brought those little faces from her program up in my mind. Good and evil seems to co-exist side-by-side in this world, where a president weeps for lost innocence. All we can do is care for each other and be prepared to stop incidents like this, if possible. I commend the teachers who protected "their kids," armed with nothing more than their determination.

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

You did an amazing job on the photo! It's hard to imagine how anyone can be so cruel to someone, much less a child. My heart breaks for these families.
