The track awaits the swiftest and the slowest of the runners. The photographer also waits, but he better get off the track before they arrive. Maybe it is the Tortoise and the Hare about to round the corner, so there is time to get the shot. Simple, but covers the parameters of the contest.

You weren't to know but athletics (track and field to you colonists) is my favourite sport to watch. I think this is inspired Tick and will be great for the competition. The colours and composition are both wonderful.
