These two magnificent bucks died with their antlers intertwined while dueling for the affection of their intended. They were found by a passing motorist who saw them lying in a ditch. The one on the left was dead and the one on the right was near death and had to be destroyed. They were mounted and left to be observed in their battle to the death. I find this to be very poignant as they display their bravery in their final struggle. I replaced the background to give it a more natural look. A possible contest entry.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), they have probably died on their 'battlefield'. Sad that there was no winner.

It's so sad what happened to the two bucks fighting to the finish due to nature's intensity to mate - great shot and narrative Tick and would be a good entry to the current contest!!!:-):-):-)!!!

Tick - A fight to the death - neither thought it would be both of them. That the taxidermist mounted them in this position is special. Your work with the background change highlights the two bucks so well. Great photography work.

What a story and what a great capture. Poor deer. Not a good way to go and all over a girl who probably walked away.
