Another photo of the recent flooding on the Mississippi River. This panoramic view from Lover's Leap in Hannibal, Missouri was taken on June 3, 2019. The snakelike water in the bottom right of the photo is the railroad track. You can see what it normally looks like by watching this video.

The flood damage and subsequent cleanup from this flood is expected to exceed 2 billion dollars. You can read about it here. The water level today is 20.6 feet. Flood level is 16.0 feet. The water level in the photo was 29.2 feet. You can follow this link to see other flood photos.

Terrible happenings when flooding occurs...once it starts..Nothing can stop it...

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I've already sent you by PM a link about the the attention that was paid in the Dutch media (TV, newspaper, on the Net) about the flood that struck the Mississippi area/boundery.
Think it would be interesting for our friends too, although the given text is only available in the Dutch language, Therefore I provide them with THIS LINK as well.

If the level is still 4.6 ft higher than the standard flood level then it is going to take a few weeks more for the water level to get back to normal. Nice panoramic view showing all details well Tick.
