I thought these cows were just resting until I stopped to take a photo. Come to find out, they are on strike. They told me to mooove closer when I was taking the photo and that's when one of them gave me the information. I won't tell you which one because I promised not to reveal my source. They also asked me to make it a black and white photo, so their ear tags wouldn't be so dominant. As you can see I obliged.
Why are they on strike you ask? Don't feel bad, I asked the same question. According to my source, she was a little shook up at the time, this particular Amish family treated their horses better then the cows. Preferential treatment they called it. All the horses have names and they are just called cows. Plus the horses get to go our and see the country. It doesn't matter they were pulling wagons or buggies the times they are out. The cows were "fed up" and were refusing to give any milk, so it the family wanted butter or cheese, they could just buy it when they were out with the horses. "No More Milk" was their battle cry and in parting; my source said that should frost their flakes.
They put up a fence so no one could cross their picket line. No horse would stand still for an interview. I know because I tried.
You have the 'Gift of the Gob' as we say over here....
Love the pix too...
