I thought these cows were just resting until I stopped to take a photo. Come to find out, they are on strike. They told me to mooove closer when I was taking the photo and that's when one of them gave me the information. I won't tell you which one because I promised not to reveal my source. They also asked me to make it a black and white photo, so their ear tags wouldn't be so dominant. As you can see I obliged.

Why are they on strike you ask? Don't feel bad, I asked the same question. According to my source, she was a little shook up at the time, this particular Amish family treated their horses better then the cows. Preferential treatment they called it. All the horses have names and they are just called cows. Plus the horses get to go our and see the country. It doesn't matter they were pulling wagons or buggies the times they are out. The cows were "fed up" and were refusing to give any milk, so it the family wanted butter or cheese, they could just buy it when they were out with the horses. "No More Milk" was their battle cry and in parting; my source said that should frost their flakes.

They put up a fence so no one could cross their picket line. No horse would stand still for an interview. I know because I tried.

Oh yes Tick. Without any doubt they are on strike. No wonder - the horses are better treated, brushed and caressed and they have single rooms! Most probably the placards the cows had were trampled upon by the horses. Good to know that you still speak cowlingo well.

Shades of the allegorical masterpiece, Animal Farm. I'm all for the udder resistance of the cows but will wait for the pigs to weigh in with their well thought out judgment.

OH! This is a good one. I'm glad to know that is why they are laying there. Never thought that could be the reason. Ha! Neat capture.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), did you advice them that a sit down strike would be more effective, because they can't be milked that way anymore? I realize however that not milking for a somewhat longer time would bring them in troubles.
If I were a cow, I would have protested (by a roaring sound) all night long for this preferential treatment for horses.

Perfect entry for Mē in particular your narrative ! Thanks for the smile.
