This Amish couple was headed to town and I happened to be taking photos of a cemetery entrance when they went by. This goes along with my Share The Road photo for the local newspaper. This too shows how Amish and Automobiles coexist on the roadways.

I like how the horse protected the woman's identify as they approached me. It knows they don't like to pose for photos. She becomes anonymous as they continue down the road. You can see the man is careful not to look into the camera.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT),

I recognize a lot of what you describe in your narrative and what we can see in your good 'photojournalism' collage, because there are also many people in my small country who have similar habits and a belief like the Amish. For example: these people in my country aren't allowed to have TV because they see this as an instrument of the devil.
Everyone must know what he or she believes. Even if one disagree about that, one should respect these people.

Good photojournalism contribution!

Great capture, it looks to me that they have better looking horses in your area than we do around here. Never seen a light colored in our area.

Love the subject matter and the 'coming and going' aspect to this presentation...and the diagonal/triangular framing works so well with the curvature of the road and you even have the yellow lines connecting...great work, Tick!

Well thought out for this composition..I think that horse anticipated you snapping this image and turned it's head to hide the woman...

Great presentation...just a though too...It also has a 'Diagonal' option too.

Nice title, presentation and photos Tick. I can well imagine that these people hate to be photographed. Anyway they have a right to object too.
