Edit: There is no disrespect intended with the title of this photo.
I really liked this old fence around the cemetery in Novinger, Missouri and the natural diagonal line it makes in the scene. The Tombstones in the background also follow the fence's path. It is located next to the roadway and gives a sense of peace when you drive by. This will most likely be my entry for the current contest.
It is also my contribution to SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES. I will give you the choice of Roy Rogers or Gene Autry. Leave your vote in the comments if you choose.

Looks very similar to the Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud, Colorado. Well captured Tick. Fine contest entry indeed.

Fencing around cemeteries was believed to specifically define the designated area for the burial site area. Mixing superstition and beliefs into the equation, it separated the dead from the living.
The ornate spiking of the top rail post is quite interesting to me, also. I pity the fool who avoids the gate and attempts scaling the fence. Torn jeans and damaged goods can be the only ending to that act!

I really like your shot Tick as we don't have anything with regard to fenced in cemetaries ia our area - that fence is quite interesting - good entry for the contest - Great Capture and Good Luck:-):-):-):-):-)!!!!!

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), you've created a dilemma to let me choose for either Roy Rogers or Gene Autry. It's like choosing for an apple or an orange. Not comparable anyhow, 😜
Fact however is that with both music videos of 'Don't fence me in' (the dynamic version of Roy Rogers and the static one of Gene Autry) you have provided us with very fine contributions for the SNATM-theme (🎥), 👍 !
Almost as usual, you've offered us two or three for the price of one, because it's probably your entry for the 'Diagonal' contest as well. If you'll decide for that, wish you Good Luck with it!
