I promised you a closer view of this house, so here it is. As you can see, the year's have not been kind to what I suspect was a beautiful home at one time. The collapse of the chimney's is all telling. Santa no longer makes stops.

I felt like a superhero when I ignored the "No Trespassing" sign and zoomed in and out in a flash. I will let the bean field serve as foofies on this Friday.

EDIT I discovered some information about the death of a former member today. I hope I am mistaken. You can read about in on The Bulletin Board.

Good one showing the house closer Tick. When I se such "lonely" homes I always wonder how and why one would build a house in such a place.

Excellent capture, Tick, but I feel sorry for this poor house. The light point is the yellow bean.

Wonderful picture, Tick. I believe the orange brick-like substance on both the left and right sides of the roof are collapsed chimneys and I wonder why, with the roof rotting away, why the chimneys simply had not fallen through to some point in the house itself. They do add color and mystic story as they are.

Looked to be a good solid house in its day Tick - it's so sad to see a house left to stand and decay in the midst of that wonderful field of yellow - Great Capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), this house needs only some minor maintenance to regain its full glory, 😜 !
Just kidding of course, because it's a pity that this monumental brick house will be deteriorated this way. Think that it deserves some fund raising to prevent that this heritage will be lost for forever.
BTW, a relief to me that you were able to post this good capture, because it's a proof to me that you weren't arrested by violating the 'No Trespassing' sign. A medal for your courage, my friend!

The years can be hard on us. My minds eye can imagine its once majestic state. This is a testament to what happens when people cease caring...

Not to be glib or depressing, but everything in the universe is in a constant state of entropy and nothing lasts forever. This fact doesn't bother me in the slightest. You captured this universal law perfectly with this shot. ;) BTW: I think it would be a brilliant idea to have a In memoriam page set up for members who have passed on. It really goes to show how special this site is, and how many true and meaningful friendships we have all formed over the many years.
