I thought I would add a little color to this dreary, Foofy Friday. This photo was taken in Quincy, Illinois several years ago. I have so many photos that I have not posted, I thought it was time to share one. I had another photo without the wall, but for some reason I thought this made a good composition.

It is also my contribution to SNATM The movie is very old, but for those who like Sidney Poitier, Jazz Music-Quincy Jones and Archie Bunker, you will enjoy it. You can watch the trailer here and read about the movie here.

The ivy is sure taken over the house! Good find, and well taken, and the wall does not bother me at all. tigz=^..^=

I like the diagonal line of the wall in this shot - it leads me to all the ivy and the little bit of house - I do remember that movie so a nice one for SNATM.

The picture offers me some fond old memories. For example, the mail box attached to house near the front door. I remember being able to open my front door and grabbing the mail. Then, as the years and I moved on, I had to go down the driveway to fetch my daily bills. Now, I find myself walking down to where all the mailboxes are grouped together.

And, Tick, hanging from the mailbox in your photo is another memory, the rack for the delivery of the daily newspaper. I have seen local newspapers fade away with the passing of time and the popularity of the internet and the invent of cell phones.

Oh well, I'll get out of the DeSota and go back inside; buggy whip tucked under my arm and me yelling at the kids to get off my yard! ;)

Seems to be more ivy at the top than at the bottom of the house,it has a unique way of growing. Terrific angle you've taken this photo from. Nice!!

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), your choice to represent the film 'For Love of Ivy' with this photo couldn't have been better.
This old romantic comedy (1968) is, by marking it as entry for the SNATM-theme (🎥), brought to the attention again.
Well done again, 👍!

This is a beautiful shot Tick. I like the ivy covered walls although when I see such houses I wonder whether there will be insects in this green walls.
