This goes with my other grave site images. Another young child who must have loved his marbles. I can make out his name and birth date, but not the rest. Maybe you folks can figure it out? Every grave has a story to tell. Thanks for viewing and critiques are welcome :)

The last line looks like "Jan 20, 193...." Can't make out what comes after the 3. Maybe a badly placed "0".

I've never seen anything like it. What a Marker ! Thanks for showing.

P.W. West, June 4, 1922 Jan. 20 1938 seems to be all that is written. Wow, this really blows my mind, thinking that someone made this as a memorial for a young person and it still held up after almost seventy years. My guess is that a younger sibling got the idea and did this for their brother. (I tend to think brother because I don't know how popular marbles were with girls at that time). Your images make us think, Carolyn. They also make us reflect. Thank you.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Yes, this is very good. I agree with Cynlee about what is on it. ;-)

Right now, I'm once again in the middle of a move that won't be completed for 2 weeks, once I get that done, I'll post again. I will still comment on yours. Keep smiling in the mean time. ;-) Steve

Amazing, that the grave looks that good after all those years. Maybe it is really a sibling or some kids have adopted the grave. Nice shot of "eternal life."

Very poignant image Carolyn.

Just stopped by for a look to see what was new in your galleries, and as they say ... this is the one that jumped out at me.

Seems trivial to comment on the technical aspects given the subject matter. But the clarity is very good, and the colours are rich.

Thought provoking? Indeed.

its more likely to be 1930 than 1938 beacuse he is more likely to have been an 8yr-old child than a 16yr-old (the marbles)
however, a younger sibling could have chosen marbles for a personal reason.
in my opinion it is a 0
amazingly touching nevertheless
well done
