Ok, so I was following Nathan Smith's Pen tutorial and after many tries and a raging headache this is the result. It's not very good but I wanted to share and get your comments. This is my first design creating everything from scratch, from the background on up.

I agree with you... it is not "very good"... it is "excellent"!! Especially for a first attempt! I love your choice of colours here too.

If this is "not very good" remind me to never, ever show you anything I have ever or will ever produce.
It's lovely. I'm not a great fan of goldwork, but this is not too overdone and it seems to be more a part of the picture than some. Wonderful background and colours. Nice composition. Very pretty indeed.
