Great detail in the dragonfly...looks a little like it lost its balance. It appears a little hot in spots. Try spot metering on the brightest area and increase the shutter speed to adjust the amount of light entering. Great shot, getting that close:-)

Excellent capture, great macro, the detail and background are very much OK!
I like the composition. I'm a fan of dragonflies and I like to take pictures of them too, so I know how difficult it often is to take a good picture of them.

Fine detail on the head and body and a wonderful composition overall. Most times there is no time to fool with the shutter speed and and overall lighting when trying to capture something so elusive. But, Mayne gives good advice for the next opportunity. Well done, Michael.

That’s a spectacular shot. You got a wonderful depth of focus, especially for a frontal view. With this kind of shot get the first one quickly, then worry about exposure corrections for the follow up shots if he hangs around long enough.

Great clarity in this shot! The dark background really allows the dragonfly to stand out. Good job!
