Heiligenblut 1.288m, near the mountain Grossglockner at the Moelltal valley in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern of the district Spittal at Drava, Carinthia.
Sabine, think I've downloaded a cropped version of this image, posted during your vacation. To me this full-size image is even better. Regards, Cornelius
What a lovely scene, and from the homes that have cropped up behind it I can see that I'm not the only one with that opinion. Super vacation picture. Nice that you can take your own postcards :)

What I like most about this shot is the perspective that makes the steeple look taller than the mountain tops, which is as it should be, no? lol (Symbolically speaking). What a beautiful day, place and photograph. I can see detail in things that are really far from the lens.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Although i did like Chris his posting about the same church in Holy Blood, i do like this one much better (Sorry Chris !) but this is due to the fact that you managed to shoot i horizontaly. Since the pc is there, and specialy since we have digital photography, i have stopped vertical photography alltogether. If a image does not look right horzontal, and only looks oke vertical, i do not even bother to take the shoot.
I hate to turn my montior 45 degrees each time to view. Monitors are not made and are to heavy to flip them on the side each time i guess.
Wonderfull shot, and now i see, i nearly was in Karintië to :-) thanks a lot for this beauty of a shot.
wonderful capture Sabine! love the way you have captured the church in the dip in the valley and off centre! It also has excellent clarity and focus! well done!
