This is a picture I took a few months back at Lake of the Ozarks. I took several pictures that evening, but most didn't turn out so well. This one I fell in love with. I havn't done anything with this. No manipulations, no messing with the color or contrast. I just took it, and turned it, since I look it with the camera sideways. Let me know what you think. Please!

I love the golden tone...The ripples really carry you through the effect. I guess I'm saying..I like this a lot.

What a beautifully awesome photo! I love the colour, it must have been the reflection of a sunset eh? And the swirls, well, this is just pretty!! For sure. Glad you took this shot, shared it and love it. I do too!! Verena

Thanks! This was with my brother's camera, and he just bought a new one and offered to sell this one to me!!!! The one I took most of my other shots with was a two megapixel dinosaur that took mini-cd's. This new one is much better, but it will take some getting used to. I'm gonna miss the old one. Even if it was around when Abe Lincoln had his bout with photography.

I was looking through your gallery at the thumbnail level...and this one jumped out at me right off the bat. I really like the composition of the shot and I'm envisioning a rock was skipped across the water to create those shapes and ripples. I can definitely appreciate that this came straight out of the camera, but I think the shot could be that much better with just a bit of post-work. Just a small bit of levels adjustments and contrast will go a long way...and, in my mind, you haven't changed the integrity of the picture whatsoever by making slight adjustments...nicely done!

This one stood out to me too. I think that your composition is interesting and quite brave. You've used the rule of thirds to organise the frame and I like the way you've chopped the ripples. Most people would try to get all of them into the shot and I think this is more effective because they are truncated. I don't necessarily agree with Stephen about the postwork; yes a Curves adjustment could boost the contrast a bit and it might be interesting to see what a bit of sharpening would do. But I think this is good as it stands, it's all in the composition for me and that is very strong.

If you really don't do anything with this photo, than I like it very much (I believe you that). Great colors, excellent...

Thanks for the comments on my Decoded image and as you requested I will return the favor :)

It was hard choosing the right image to comment on but I personally think this one interests me the most. It's a great shot but I could easily consider this a really nicely composed abstract as well. The color scheme is really nice also.

I think you could manipulate this to make it a desktop wallpaper instead of this vertical strip. I may just give that a try :P

Keep it up, you've got a good eye.

I love the orange colour in this; it reminds me of this sunset I saw in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, right after an afternoon thunderstorm. The ripples in the water are quite beautiful.

Very nice shot! :) Very peaceful and serene, and I like the way you captured the light in the photo. Perhaps a landscape orientation would feel more natural. :)

Excelent concept & great natural feel to it. personally I think it works well in portrait, I like the way the top ripple is incomplete & the smaller ones just come in from the side. The ones on the top right do detract from the overall composition just a little, but overall it is excellent.
Keep up the great work :))

It might just be me, but I feel that the title is just as powerful as the picture itself. Exceptional choice

It does have a strong evocative quality that comes in part from the simplicity of subject and colouring. Ripples are a metaphor that comes naturally to our minds in relation to time. The only way I can think of that this image might be "more" of what it is would be if all of the right edge of the main ring was inside the frame and everything else was as it is. Lovely poetic shot.
