I think this works mainly because it was a well composed scene to begin with. I'm sure that the original had a totally different mood though. One this that bothers me is the bright reflection in the puddle. What exactly did you do there? It seems like it shouldn't be that bright since the sky doesn't have a corresponding bright area in it. Nice job all around though.

What you did is quite wonderful. I love the blues and the lighting. I too wonder about the splash of light on the sidewalk.

Salut Lucy :-)
Il semble que Paris t'aie particulièrement inspirée!
J'ai l'impression d'une image du début du 20ème siècle...
Superbe!

Thanks for the great feedback guys, hugely appreciated as always.

The bright reflection is actually abstract shapes made with ps brushes. When I was constructing the image I added lots of different elements to it (balloon, birds, tower, etc.) because I was going for a surreal picture... then I realised it didn't quite work with this shot and I just took them out one by one. You could say the reflection is a leftover from that ;) I hesitated but in the end I left it. I probably shouldn't have but I guess me being me I cound't part with it. :)

This is as brilliant as most of your images that I've enjoyed over the years. The flash of light on the puddle is not really distracting. This will go into my faves, which are already crowded with your stunning images.

Thanks !

it's the "Place de la Concorde" (with its famous Obelisk), one of the major squares in Paris (France).

F**k me, this is good!

This one is truly surreal. But not too much. It seems almost like there is nothing out of place in the works. It is a beautiful scene the likes of which cannot be seen with our senses.
Almost like one is watching our everyday world, but through some sense us mere mortals do not own.

This is a terrific composite. You did a thoughtful job of placing the objects. The blue lighting is very romantic.
