When I had to choose a title for this I hesitaded between "Terraforming", "Crash Landing"and "War of the Worlds". I choose the latter because the picture ended up being quite agressive (at least for me). Had nothing to do with the book or movie though. This is one of the biggest manip I've ever done with Photoshop I think. The original landscape was shot in my village two winters ago. Manip is mostly gradiant maps, blend modes, lots of free brushes and a few old 3d max render... As always, thanks for looking.

Got this in the VB...what a surprise to see. It's a very very well done manipulation. The use of the dark, simply foreground really sets a frame for everything that's going on in the sky. The effects in the sky are perfect too...they're obviously "out of this world", but not too much so it still fits in the realm of imagination. Really cool and very nicely done...faved!

lol Jan, don't worry, it's no big deal (a lot of the photos in my gallery have the same c-index). To be honest, it doesn't mean that much to me. Hadn't since the good old days (like four years ago). :)
Perhaps it's the fact I'm not that much around anymore, perhaps its the simple fact that I'm my own worst critic but mainly, I'm just satisfied that people look at my images... and sometimes choose to share their views. It's enough for me :)
