i like it. nice composition - good contrast - i'd might like it a lil' darker - but, it's a good 'un none the less. sky looks good - i like the darker corner there on the top. great subject matter too. yup - i like it. great job
You picked a good picture for it; lots of natural contrasts and textures, interesting subject too, and nicely composed. Makes the viewer want to zoom in closer to see the building and how it is perched. You could try either sharpened it a bit, or upping the contrast, which would make it more dramatic, and make it easier to make out the edges on the building. Regardless, it's a wonderful photo - especially in black and white! Seems like there should be a story alongside of it. :-)))
"Acknowledge yourself for how far you have come, instead of how far you think you have to go." I'm always happy to see you at My Gallery. I appreciate all of you. Thanks, Anita
I have just been to Lands End, Cornwall and this rugged unusual house looks like it would fit down there perfectly. Absolutely love this picture and would also liek to know where it is.
If you go to Mnt. St. Michel (France) when the tide is out and start wandering around the base of the island, you'll find a few interesting things. I'm sure there are hundreds of visitors to the tourist attraction that have no idea this little chapel exists! The darkish line that runs horizontally along the rocks marks high tide!
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
Excellent work! The shot is great and it looks very nice in black and white - it adds a feeling of mystery to it... As for improvements... Hum... I don't know, I guess it would like it even more if you could somehow make the building stand out more... Great job!
I really like this! Very dramatic, and i like the contrasts. It's amazing that tourists don't really know about this place.. probably best to keep it a secret hey! by the way thanks for your comment on one of my entries to the last contest (dreams). Great photo.
Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all men are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all men . . . shall we . . . be able to speak of mankind as civilized.

No tips but just wanted to say that I truly like this photo in B&W. You've made a fine choice and have done a fine job at capturing this scene. Great work--keep it up! -Twig
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.

Actually, this is a stunningly moody image and you've done a great job with the B&W handling. Between the two (color or this one) I prefer this one for eye appeal. You've a fine angle, exposure is right on the money and that sky is magnificant. Nice work all 'round. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
A very interesting presentation. Such a quaint church that seems to be on the beach. It seems like those wonderful huge rocks are holding the building in place. Fine appearing stone work on the church - and the statue/saint on top of the building catches ones eye immediately. Nice seeing the stone steps heading up from the beach, and maybe connected to the church. Wow, that tide comes in close to this area. The B/W is lovely for this image. Very well done work :*>
Sorry to be kind of talking aloud my thoughts here as a preamble ... but, I read through the above comments and one in particular has stuck with me.
The aspect of your composition. I think I would respectfully disagree with the much more accomplished artist above as to whether you could dramatically increase the overall impact. For me, as is ... the focal point is perhaps more centered than the 'rule of thirds' would dictate ... however ... the conversion to B & W and adding in that wonderful sky creates some 'movement' in the image in my eyes.
It is as if I am there, and the clouds are ambling by ... with a gentle breeze blowing in from the water. That ... is a very good photo IMHO. To draw the viewer in and allow them to experience that same moment in time? ... powerful stuff.
Photographers are artists, magicians. They capture beauty so that it will last forever, and they might change it, make it something it is not. Thanks to photoshop!
