This was taken at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens on a lazy Saturday afternoon. This is a new area of photography for Louisa and me, so comments and suggestions are definitely appriciated.
Very pretty! I love the water drops on the flower. I like the brightness of the flower contrasted with the dark cool leaves. The only thing that I could possibly bad about this is the flower is not all perfectly in focus. But that's really really nitty gritty. =) Perhaps increasing the depth of focus would help the front of the flower and the stamen--or whatever it's called--come into focus?? But other than that....wonderful job and thanks so much for sharing, she's gorgeous.

It's a beautifull flower and good composition.
If you want improve a photograph like this by giving us the impression and feeling that we actually reach out and touch that flower you need to do something difficult: make the whole flower razorsharp while keepingthe background blurred.
That means that you should increase the diaphragma number (small opening) and increase the exposure time. So it would involve a tripod or something to lend you a very steady hand.
Good luck!
