Presently on holiday... used Irfanview to work on this image! Such a beautiful setting for those who have departed for a better place! This photo was taken on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, not too far from St. Simeon, Qc... perhaps Montmagny or Port Joli. I had taken shots of regular <i>doors</i> for churchs, barns, locks, houses and back sheds... but this one tickled my fancy the most! :o) oh... taken with the little one... the SD950 IS!

This is a very lovely capture with good clarity. The only thing I might have done differently was try a different zoom or angle so I could capture the church better, but this is a fabulous shot nonetheless.

Very Nice photo... Love how clear it is.. I am sorry but I don't agree with everyone else. I like the photo just the way it is. I like seeing the different headstones along with everything else

Now that I am back home... :o)
No one has expressed himself/herself as to the Doorway to Heaven, but I shall now clarify... each doorway is represented by a headstone. It is not the church that is the doorway... though it could be as well. That is why I did not need the church as an instrumental figure in the image. I do have the backside of each headstone rather than the front... but I wanted the river and the ship included. Had I included all of the church, there would have been too much of the grass in the image... (at least in my eye!)
Yet another subject I had for doors was that of airplanes... I probably will post some of the better images (if any!) now that I am home... but I will need perhaps a couple days of down-time! :o)
