This was taken back in 1996 or there abouts, with a simple disposable camera during a cloudy day, so the quality isn't that great.

What a funny little animal... it almost looks like you have placed him there just for the shot... "Say cheese!" I think the quality is actually quite good.

LOL... they were quite tame. They begged for food from the tourists. It's called a "Dassie" or Hyrax. You can actually see the Castle of Good Hope in this photo, if you look carefully (a Pentagon shaped building).

I'm glad that the quality isn't that bad, I might even see if I can find some other photo's of that trip.

If you follow a straight line North from the animals neck/head you'll see a brownish building, almost half way to the harbor. That's the castle!

Ok, am I the ONLY one that can see the castle? You'll have to view it in full screen. It really is there, just look very carefully. This is the best directions I can give: If you follow a straight line up from the animals neck, and you follow another line to the right of the high rise buildings (in the left of the shot), then you'll find the castle roughly where the two lines meet.

The pemtagon is the castle. It's not a castle in the European sense of the word, more like a fort, but it is called the Castle of Good Hope.

This has got to be the cutest animal I have even seen, ever. I can't stop gushing at it and I am just wondering what kind of roddent it is exactly... Anyways, the view behind it is worth a thousand buck, since you got the chipmunk in front... Ahhh, simply wonderful!
