Anyone want to venture a guess at what it's from? It is indeed from an ostrich - the leg part at least ;)

I have no clue what it is or what it was, I do however like the texture & lighting. Reminds me of part of a statue I once saw. Have fun with this one!

It is the foot of a falcon or other wild bird of that sort?

Whatever it is, it is indeed a strong textured image. Good angle and light. All super clear.

This is a superb image. I love the excellent detail and clarity.

Haven't a clue what it is though. Some sort of waterfowl?

geez, I have no clue. Ostrich, emu, eagle, vulture, hawk, heron? I can't even figure out what part of the body it would be.

I was thinking of an ostrich/emu or something originally, but it seemed too unlikely. Ostrichs at least live in Africa, so I guess that makes it a better choice, but then again, you could have snapped it in a zoo, so it could be anything. I'm thinking it's the foot.

Ostrich is indeed the answer. It's a part of the ostrich leg (shin).

That's what an ostrich leg looks like? Interesting. Anyway, cool picture.

Ostrich meat is indeed a lean meat, one of the best lean meats you can eat. My only question about this amazing photo is how did you manage to get the shot with having him step on your head? If they're like emus, they're likely to be quite temperamental.
