Hello Swith. Very nice capture. I've always been partial to Old Mills. They bring us back to our roots. Whether wind driven or water, as in this image, it's always there. You did a very nice job, first posting or not. 10s by me.
Swith...please post more. I love this shot. Just as a tip, it's pretty easy to remove the car from the image. Many of us do it all the time to "improve" our images. You can do it seamlessly using the magnifying glass and clone tool in photoshop. Take your time and go pixel by pixel if you need to. Other apps also have the clone tool. It's a good one to learn how to use. Also suggest you click on the name of the person you want to thank and go to their pages so they can get Karma points from your thanx.
How strange to see an image from only 5 or 6 miles from where I grew up and my parents still live. This mill is a great place. It was built in 1767 and is still operational, selling various sorts of stone-ground flour, delicious baking mixes (I recommend either kind of gingerbread!), and quirky gifts. My mother's cornbread wouldn't be the same without their cornmeal. They have a website here: http://www.oldmillofguilford.com/ I do have to argue with the description a bit: the mill is actually in Oak Ridge, although it is close to Stokesdale. Anyway, thank you, Swith, for reminding me of home.
