Hmm, as I recall the this one's predecessor ... hard to say which one I like more.
But, this one is very strong. Wonderful clarity; which I think is such a difficult component of images like this ... and the composition makes more sense and ... hmm, appears to have had more aforethought? Think that makes sense.
For example, the position of the logs leads the eye nicely through the image in relation to the 'hollow' that is present on the right hand side. Great focal point that is not overwhelming, another difficult element for this subject matter, in my mind. How to avoid the brilliance of the intense flame and not be distractive to the overall image.
I think you have really did an outstanding job in balancing the various elements in this shot. And really really succeeded in creating some depth to the image.
Ok, it's decided, I like this one that little bit more, lol. Thanks for sharing it.
p.s. Just had a thought, horizontally flip this one. For my desktop it works better, as I tend to place my icons in the upper left hand side. The 'hollow' I refer to, I think, would work better on the other side. Just a suggestion, albeit, a rather personal one, lol.
Remarkable! Your image is well balanced, perfectly "lit" - no pun intended - and very intriguing. I'm going to make sure I see the others in your series! - Patty
I love this, it brought back a lot of memories. When I was young, my Grandad and I used to look for scenes in fires. I can see a view in your lovely picture. I also love fire,a nd have never managed to capture one as well as this.
