My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
I don't know if those Johnny Rebs noticed, but that officer standing near the end of the line on the right appears to be a Yankee. I'd shoot him, regardless, just to be safe!
Jerry, excellent picture and I also noticed it is good as a desktop wallpaper :)
I'm just about to finish reading Jeff Shaara's excellent series of seven Civil War books (and, of course, his father Michael's Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Killer Angels"), so this outstanding image brings that war even more fully to life. Reading John's comment just above, I, myself, early on in my research, was surprised to find that there were Confederate units that wore uniforms so dark blue or blue-gray that they were almost exactly like the Union uniforms, so that guy on the end is probably outfitting himself along those lines. Again, excellent capture, Jerry. After I'm done working on my fence-building today, I'm going to have to look back through your gallery for more (I do remember seeing a number of reenactment photos in the past, but I don't recall if they were yours).
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Great Capture Jerry - we do get a sense of what the war was like - your image has such clarity and colors - I understand that these re-enactors are history buffs!!!!!!!!!!
