This is an interesting abstract design process. I made this image by creating a feather like flame fractal image. Next I located a Mandlebrot fractal design. I use the Mandelbrot in the distortion>displace filter with a displacement of about 40. So we have a flame fractal distorted by a Mandelbrot. Makes a nice background. MUST BE SEEN FULL SIZE TO APPRECIATE.

I have no clue what you said in your narative, but I like the creation. Makes a great desktop.

Quite a fascinating fusion Peter – and your right about the necessity of viewing full size. Interesting painted effect to it without being overly ‘fussy’.

Your narrative makes little sense to an analogue head like me Peter
But I like it hence my comment, You've practically managed to create an oil canvas image with a pc.
Well done

Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.

I find your narrative very informative. I like your resulting work. It has energy and vitality. The crossing diagonals and center line contrast very well against each other. And, the black background brings everything forward for our eyes to feast upon. Peter, I find myself enjoying "Fractal Explorations" very much.

Wow! I think this is a very unusual, but wonderful image. I'm not an addict of fractal works, but this one rocks! Bravo!

Good choice of colours, it makes the composition very smart.

Great composition! What appeals most to me are the strong colours in contrast to the black parts. Did you do it all with a fractal generator or is there some postwork with a graphic programme? Just asking out of curiosity (I'm a fractaler, too :-)).

Omotou, there is post work in Photoshop using a fractle image to distort the main painting.

Now this is something I would love to be able to do a canvas painting of. The colour blending is just fantastic. And the white 'glow' in the center is THE nucleus for the whole feeling of this piece of art of yours Peter.I have used those little swirlies in Photoshop before and love them a lot. It's the little 'tweak' that sometimes is needed in a creation such as yours. The way the colours are blended is perfect!! Verena
