I wasn't happy with the perspective in parts of the image...things looked tilted. I wanted better rock and I felt that a foreground object might be good. I ended up painting the entire foreground tower by hand. I changed and corrected perspective elements, added a radar dome on top of the power-core and did a little lighting adjustment. As you can see, Matte Painting takes time, but it's pleasant time. Meanwhile I've been working on several other paintings and I come back to this with fresh eyes after a few days. I've also collapsed many layers and grouped others but still have nearly a hundred layrs. In many cases each small detail of a section is on a separate layer to give me control over the final outcome.
THAT IS SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO SEE!!!!
