Finally! We got a new digital camera today so I was able to take a picture of my drawing(this was the best I could get, unfortunetly some of the drawing was cut off). Many thanks to Lucy (Cain) for letting me use her picture DarkCathedral as my subject. This is my first building as well, so honestly I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I know there are a lot of imperfections, but apprearently the judges liked it enough to give it first =) Hope I did your picture justice Lucy! This medium is pencil - ebony pencil to be specific.

Wow, congratulations. Of course it's a first place winner Bethany, it's so precise it reminds me of some of the architectural detail drawings. Enter some more competitions and don't forget to share...

And how you did it justice!... my gosh! wow!... You can't see it but my jaw is hitting the floor right now^^ lol. this is wonderfully made Bethany. It's "claire-obscur'" in all it's glory. Pencil really gives a great rough texture and a new interpretation for the shot I took. You created a fantastic new dark gothic ambiance.

FANTASTIC..... wow Bethany you really deserved to win with this.... you are full of talent sis... keep it up and i will see your name hanging in the art galleries... :) the shading, detail and perspective is amazing.... well done again sis... you definately have done an outstanding piece of art.... :D

Excellent sketch, everything looks perfect...dunno what imperfections you're on about! ;]
I also think you did Lucy's image justice...her *Dark Cathedral* is totally awesome, too and I think you've really captured it's mysterious atmosphere...you should be extremely proud of this...

I was about to say that I liked the original better than the rework, but I didn't know until I pulled it up large that it was a drawing. You did an excellent job shadowing and showing perspective.

Most of us are here because we like art but couldn't even win a coloring contest when it comes to using our hands. It is refreshing to see someone who can do both. Keep it up!
