I recently travelled the world and on my travels, I happened upon an Ansel Adams gallery in Vegas. Shortly afterwards, I visited the setting of many of his famous pictures, Yosemite National Park. I had an idea of taking a few photos in B&W to emulate the man himself. Although my shots are not of the same quality, I would like any comments on how I could improve. This shot in particular was very diffucult to capture as the light was in such contrasts. I think I spent a good 20 minutes sprawled on a very uneven rock to get the shot. Please also see my second shot called Tribute to Ansel 2

Very interesting picture! And i applaud your enthusiasm:) I love the black and white.. it really makes for a great capture. The only thing I can think that would approve this picture is the thing(sorry for the lack of description.. im not really sure what it is) on the far left, right on top of the bridge. It's a bit distracting, especially in full screen. But other than that, this is a lovely capture and a very nice tribute to Ansel Adams. It has a very nostalgic feeling, which is always good:) Great post! Peace -Sarah.

I think it's a bus (that thing on the left):) I also applaud your enthousiasm and I think this turned out very well, did you use a tripod?

Great capture, I think I would have used an aged effect instead of the black and white, but that's just me. Love it as is....Kat

I too think it is a great picture but agrre with CK that an aged effect would be quite interesting to see.
