See the deer in the last photo really does exist.

The rest of the story. The doe having ascertained that I posed no immediate threat to her finally came out of hiding. By this point she is about 10 feet away and treating me like I was part of the decor. So now you would think I have the luxury of snapping off as many shots as I please. That's what I thought too. Well just as we are getting comfortable with each other, overlooking each other's flaws. Along come the neighbours. Oh and they brought their dogs. Instead of fleeing the scene the doe stood there and watched, slowly turning her head, as they walked down the trail. The dogs must have had head colds because they showed no sign of recognizing the smell of wildlife nearby, or maybe my smelly feet were masking the odor. After the interruption the spell was broken and the deer wandered off across the trail deeper into the woods.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

You lucky dog. You and Don get all the deer shots. This is a beauty. Could you tell what those dark marks were. The one near top of leg is as round as a shotgun slug.

You are lucky to get such a capture with the lens, I wondered too about the dark spots, especially that one in front. Her expressive face is beautiful! Tigs♥ =^..^=

Excellent capture, smelly feet and all, Wendell.
There is a timeless moment between the deer and the photographer that is unique.

Fantastic...
The story is great too. Very true. They first notice one, get alarmed, then stop and perceiving no harm remain quietly watching and then the spell is gone... They leave without any sound. Pity the spell is always gone when one starts to think about establishing some friendship with them. Such "one" could be anyone but Boris, oops SAAB.
