I was sitting out for a spell trying to cool off in the shade of the early evening when this young lady came out of the woods behind home. As she slowly ambled through the yard she browsed on a few choice plants, luckily for her not on anything I had planted or we might have had words. Naturally my camera was sitting in the house while all that photographic action was taking place. When the opportunity presented itself, otherwise known as when the deer had her back to me, I slipped inside and grabbed the camera. By the time I was back outside she had made her way to the roadside. It took her three attempts to cross the street as she waited for a break in the traffic before she made it safely across and disappeared into the woods on the other side.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Amazing how deer have to cope with traffic like the rest of us. Good photo Wendell.

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.

So this is your pastime, dear agent... Watching girls in the streets in the evenings:)
On the other hand what occupation could be more fitting to a secret agent than sitting on the porch [in disguise of a tired and/or lazy person:)] ready to jump at a spur of the moment!
Love this young lady shown with superb clarity and nice detail as opposed to the fine bookeh almost elsewhere.

Good one and a good entry Wendell. In Germany we have so many accidents every year with deer crossing the rod especially in the mating season.

What a sensible Deer she is! waiting two times before safely crossing the street, no doubt she wasn't distracted by an mp3 player, or smartphone. (o:

Your focus, & exposure is spot on Wendell, & this is a fine entry into the Street Photography Contest, may the best entrant win.

Super shot of this doe & so glad she had street smarts. What are those black marks on her neck, are they ticks or something like that, just wondering
