In the Sunol Regional Wilderness area south of here where we live in Walnut Creek is a wonderful hiking place with a small but impressive canyon/creek area known to the locals as Little Yosemite. We visited there a week ago and now that the creek is really low but still running we were able to walk in the riverbed and we came along this awesome tree wrapped around a rock so naturally I snapped a shot with all of you in mind and here you have it. The tree is about 2 feet in diameter here. For those few who might be interested here is a link to the area. http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/31801. Hope you enjoy!!

A true beauty BB. The textures of the rock and the tree really blend together so nice.

An interesting photo Bruce. Love the textures in the roots and rocks. Some unusual patterns and shapes created by the roots. I like the face at the base of the tree. Nice lighting and colour.

Love the image and the innovative title. :) I rather like the texture emphasis here. And, reading the comments, I like the face in the tree also...looks like a happy tippler to me! Oh, I see more! I wasn't not referring to the face in profile down at the roots. Or the sharp-chinned man looking down on the left... or the staring eyes up high... I gotta stop this!

What an amazing find, Bruce! I'm really diggin' all the textures and range of colours you achieved here! I also like the blue streaks on the lower right hand rock! And, with the few leaves I see growing out of the trunk, I would assume the tree is miraculously still alive! Great eye and capture my friend!
