This small lake lies on the east side of Lake Tahoe where Highway 50 and Highway 28 intersect. My son and I went there and fished a couple of years ago and we saw a hawk dive for fish in the lake just near where these ducks are hanging out but he came up empty handed (clawed) in this case:):) Enjoy:):) I changed the title for those who already commented because even though the image was at Spooner Lake the focus was not the lake but the ducks on the lake! Got it?:):):)

The dead branches in the lower right corner creates depth in your image. Together with the other 'elements' you've created a well composed image Bruce. Well done.

Excellent composition and scene, it would have been wonderful to watch a hawk go fishing. Now is that loose branches what's left over of a beaver hut?

Well I say the focus in this shootings very good and you presentation is superb along with lovely colours too.I love the sky reflecting in the water and the ducks do add a nice touch to this photo..All those sticks piled up is that to do with beavers Bruce .

i personally like the pile of stick up front..nice sense of balance in color with your composition..plus, great texture within. looks like a great place to fish, i prefer those more smaller lakes that most will pass up on when it comes to fishing. maybe i was a hawk in my former life?

I hope the hawk had a fishing license. A nice capture of the lake-less ducks and great looking scene, Bruce. Lovely colours and good lighting in the photo. You should have checked to see if the beavers were at home.
