Knowing your ability to create very good abstracts I would say - hmm - you converted thick vegetation - trees mostly - to make them look like rocks and stones Bruce.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Wow, excellent entry - it makes me think of some kind of coral or ground with ice forming on it and rough snow maybe melting. Those are really wild guessing, lol.
Whatever it is this is fabulous and perfectly fits the contest - Good luck
For Nik et-al: Hey Nik/Les. Thanks for the enlightening insight to the parameters of this contest. Hey Nik, here's a short quiz based on an earlier "What is it" contest-this should really stretch your memory banks. Here's the clue: I'm actually answering a question you posed to the winner of a past "What is it" contest and I'm answering it for you-somewhat, I could be wrong but I don't think so. The answer is "lumber core plywood" Take that:):):) Let me/us know if you can find the image and of course, who posted it:) I'm having way to much fuuuuuuuun over here:)
Dirty snow? Extreme close-up of the surface of a tongue (eww)? Aerial view of a lost Mayan city in a Yucatan jungle? A blended margarita? A serious pigeon poop problem? A 4-wheeling, mud covered 4x4 at the car wash? A pounded piece of pound cake? The scorched remains of an unfortunate cooking incident, with fire extinguisher a la mode? Venusian landscape? Political dirt? None of the above?
Well, now that there's only 3 hours left to vote I might as well let the bag out of the cat :):):) Or, vice versa:). They're are several of you that are close to right on.......It is a closeup of dirty snow/ice crystals somewhere along highway 80 in Nevada from about 15 years ago.....yea, it's melted by now I'm sure of it!!!
