Bruce, as foreigner I've some difficulties to interpret your
narrative in the proper way, because 'choke' has two meanings:
-having severe difficulty in breathing because of a constricted or obstructed throat or a lack of air;
-filling a passage or space especially so as to make movement difficult or impossible.
Although option one is possible because of a breathtaking render, I prefer to choose for option two.
