Multnomah Falls is a waterfall located on Multnomah Creek in the Columbia River Gorge, east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, Oregon, United States. The waterfall is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84. Spanning two tiers on basalt cliffs, it is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon at 620 ft (189 m) in height." Info taken from Wikipedia.org. What a beautiful place we visited. The gorge is wonderful and we saw 7 waterfalls but there are more but some dry up in late summer/early fall. We did walk up to the bridge and got several shots there. I will share them later:)We plan on going back again soon:):) More info here: FALLS

Bruce, although I'm over 6.25 feet tall, I still feel like a small person looking at your beautiful and impressive photograph.
The vantage point is perfectly chosen. The bridge with the spectators reinforces the impression I expressed above.
A breathtaking view, Buddy!

When I think of waterfalls I of course picture the granddaddy of them all in America: Niagara. Multnoma in Oregon and then Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park naturally follow. Part of what makes Multnomah, which I have yet to visit, so special is the sheer vertical height of the column, with that iconic and graceful bridge the other. I am not aware of what it was but something, since my childhood, has drawn me to a deep appreciation of them, leading me to craft vacation routes first by finding local waterfalls, and only second by availability of motels not plagued by black mold. Perhaps it is the sheer power of a falls, the steady roar and pulverized mist that floats across a divide and soaks my face and camera lenses? Not long after joining Caedes, in April of 2006, I began collecting images through the selection of favorites, for the development of a screensaver made specifically of water photos. Naturally, waterfalls are an integral part of that effort, and this one of yours, Bruce, is the latest entry, so thanks loads for sharing it with us.
