This is in Ballena Bay, Alameda, CA. I went there earlier this week and then I went to see the USS Hornet nearby. I didn't go in the Hornet, but I plan on doing so at some time maybe next summer. The Hornet should be my next post:):)

Such excellent detail, Bruce. The calm water and sky makes it special too.

A very inviting scene, Bruce.
Because I grew up in a maritime environment, not only because of the maritime aspects/facilities, but in particular of the wonderful environment there.
Setting sails here will be a double pleasure, Buddy!

Lovely shot, Bruce. Takes me back to my Navy years in California. I*m looking forward to your Hornet photo; despite being a Navy vet, the only ship I have been aboard is the USS Alabama, a memorial ship in Mobile Bay, and definitely not in a carrier, although I saw plenty of active ones in Yokosuka, Japan, and the Philippine Islands. For anyone else reading this comment, the Hornet is famous for launching the Doolittle air raid on Tokyo, a little more than four months after the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor.
