Bruce, in my country they're called 'Amerikaanse Sering' (American Lilac). The Ceanothus is a graceful shrub with dense clusters of blue flowers that attract butterflies and bees. The abundance of blue flowers makes the Ceanothus a real eye-catcher in the garden. Think therefore my dear late wife decided many years ago to plant these ones.
