The Grand Canal is the widest canal in Venice and divides the city into two parts, with three sestieri to the west (San Polo, Dorsoduro and Santa Croce) and three to the east (San Marco, Castello and Canneregio). The Grand Canal is slightly longer than 2km long, and has an average depth of 4m.

nice sweeping view of the canal - the colours are a little muted but the composition and detail is very good.

Wonderful view...the angle you took is absolutely great. There is great depth of field in this image and "il gondoliere" must have recognized that you take a nice photo of him.
Very well done...

Now I am at a loss because I am not certain which one of your Venice shots I like most. All are very nice, but the favourite for me is still the one with the very narrow street - oops! canal . No 2 I guess.

Beautifull. The white balance and the brightness control is lovely. And a good vantage point too.

Very nice composition, I like the subtle colors, and the lighting. I think the people distract from the shot though. If you have people in a picture- they usually have to be the subject- or at least one of the key points- they kind of break the flow here.

Absolutely wonderful capture. I really love the way you have taken this shot and the angle lets the viewer see so much. Great clarity displayed and alot of detail to be seen. Fine piece here, two thumbs up from me :)

You've done an excellent job in capturing the many faces of Venice, from the elegant to the decaying. I like the perspective in this one, it has a lot of architectural eye-candy!
