This is my first upload in awhile, as I took a break from Photoshop. This is my first attempt at a space scene, I played around with the starfield, then added the planet and placed in the rings. Overall I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out; if you have any tips for making stars or planets or other spacey objects please send me a pm. Enjoy ;)

I like this. The colours are really nice. It would make a nice illustration for a children's book with the stars strung like that.

It doesn't look _real_ if that's what you were aiming for (neither do mine, mind, even when that is what I'm aiming for). nmsmith posted some really useful links on rendering both starscapes and planets. My attempts weren't very good, but they would have been infinitely worse without that information. (It will be easier if you use Photoshop because I had to improvise some of the time when Gimp didn't have the same function or I couldn't figure out which was the same function.)

But I don't know if that's what you were trying to achieve here or not. So it's hard to say whether those tutorials/tips would be appropriate or not.

It's nice in its own right, though, as I say.

I already have this on 2 of my new workstations. You've done a great job with the colors and I love the play of light. I'll now install it on my new Vista rig.
