This is something alligators do often. Most of the time they are sawing logs when I run across them while hiking. They are very quick to become alert to their environment, much like mother's. :) Taken at Lettuce Lake March 2015.

The gator may be sleeping but I wouldn't bet on getting too close. That's a fine capture Alex. I really like the environment that I see here.
