I am a bit apprehensive posting this, but here it goes, please keep an open mind. At Lettuce Lake park, on one of the nature trails the goes off towards the back there are a group of trees I call "The crying trees." Before I start my strange tale, I am sure there are those here that believe to different degrees that trees appear to have a life force or aura about them. Well, the group of trees pictured here create sadness in me whenever I pass by and sometime I get weepy. I can not tell you why. There is absolutely no bad memories of this location, and it's not the appearance of the trees either, but an intense "psychic" energy they produce. The feeling isn't depressing or tragic, just one of general sadness. I told you it was strange. I took this yesterday. OMG! I just realised that I had taken a picture of the same stand of trees back in December 2015 but didn't pick up on it then.

I love trees and have a great respect for them Alex. It appears you do as well. I guess that makes us Nemophilist's to a certain extent.
Something sad must have happened there at one time and you are picking up on it.
Good shot with an interesting narrative Alex.

The empathy you feel at this location must be felt live. One needs to be in nature to feel nature. It may be too much to ask of your camera and of your skills to bring us those moments you have felt in front of these trees. We see the beauty of the forest yet there is so much more to experience.

Alex, your scene is beautiful at Lettuce Lake park - the path leading into that particular location in the park looks very inviting - I love trees too and feel the energy and peace of nature - Great Capture and Narrative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a nice view and the trees look beautiful. Normally one should feel happy to be there but in your case it is really inexplicable Alex.

Alex, in my country the connection with nature of HRH Princess Irene is well known. She says she had felt this feeling since here childhood and it got intensified over the years. In 1995 she published her book 'Dialogue with Nature'.
The book outlined her philosophy that human beings are alienated from the natural world, but the Dutch media seized upon passages that recounted conversations she said she had with the trees and dolphins.
By reading your narrative I wasn't amazed that you've to a certain extent such a feeling as well.
William Shakespeare already said: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.", 😁 !

Trees are a wonderful creation of God...I don't know if they cry but it would not surprise me if they did, or , make others cry, as they witness and bear a lot in their lives, some living for hundreds of years...a moving narrative and capture, Alex...here is a poem about them:

Joyce Kilmer - 1886-1918

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
