After my somewhat surreal posting yesterday, I figured I should lighten the mood with this picture I captured earlier the same day. I waited till this little skipper moth took a rest a top this pickerel weed. I have taken a couple shots of insects on these plants through the years. One last comment about yesterday. In the 27 years I have been going to Lettuce Lake, I found it is a gathering spot for many occasions. I have seen people propose there, numerous wedding and family photos taken, along with hanky panky which I won't go into detail. I also have seen family interventions, people break up, fall in love and some have taken their lives. I don't mean to be blunt, but there has always been something neutral and special about the park to me. It's the only real place where I can relax aside from home. Blame my sentimental philosophic attitude on my manopause LOL!

I seem to remember you purchased a microscope recently Alex, so perhaps you can put this under the scope and study it.
Great shot and I must admit the mood is lighter then yesterday.
Have a good weekend.

Yes, I have a brightfield microscope (There are many different types) and a stereo microscope as well. Petals from this plant would be best under a stereo microscope as you can illuminate from above and below, where as a regular scope only shines from below unless you are using a dark field scope but I digress.

Great closeup, with the lovely butterfly. They go together very well. Beautiful work, Alex.

Alex, I thought that your title was only meant for the little skipper moth, but because of the above quote think it could be valid for you as well, 😁 !
Good capture however. Thanks fort hat!

Well taken shot with nice color and the moth at the top like a flag on a colorful pole.
