Crazy amount of detailing. Definitely worth every one of the 44 hours it took and the maxed out score in the VB. The thing that makes it is definitely the restricted and restrained palette of colours. Nicely done.

Fantastic image, Randy! Wow, it sure seems worth it though I can't imagine you sitting still that long. lol This is so unusual and different from any fractal I have seen before. It looks like an Indonesian rocket or an exotic gas stove top or maybe there's a genie about to take form in the center orb of this lovely creation. Makes the imagination run wild. Great job, Randy!

This is a god one Randy. I love the subdued colors you used. It increases the dramatic effect of the flames. From the thumbnail, I thought it was a stadium, Parthenon etc with fire shooting from it and I was wondering how you got the angle to shoot it that you did. The fact that you created this is way more impressive and the render time is quite a feat (but worth every second that it 'cooked').

I'm not sure how I missed this one. Truly outstanding work, Randy! Quite an ornate fire ring you have going there! I really like your gradient choice and magnificent lighting. Super job and into my favs+ :)
Btw, I've been experimenting with Apop settings, after rendering a flame for 3 days that I uploaded the other day. Would you mind telling me if you use oversample 2, and what size you start out rendering at. Settings may be different in the 3D version, as I have not used it yet, but I'm curious.
