one of my favourite places to take shots, the weather was not up to much so me and alice took a drive to the beach to play waves. :-) i know there is a few blown out bits in the sky here, but even on iso 50 and f22, i still had to over expose to get the blur i wanted in the shot. however, i still really liked this one despite the highlights.

A nice work with the b/w and the milky water Dimps. I like poles in the shot. It gives it great depth.
Wonderful work.

I think the highlights are just fine, if not great. This shot is perfect. Well done.

What Bean said re technique. :) Good choice for the bw and clever comp with dominating foreground but elements in mid and distance to drag the eye in. You are SO good!

I like this very much Jan. I don´t think the highlights are a problem. The movement of the waves and the composition looks really great. Very well done!

This photo bring such calmness to my mind. The b&w is perfect and the slight movement of the water around those posts is just right too. A real drama and delight Jan. Verena

The post is so utterly monolithic. Part of me would want to position it a fraction to the left or crop the left a bit, but as it is there is a dynamic tension to the composition that is simply stunning. Sometimes blur in water is overdone, but you got it right...it looks more like smoke than water.

Very moody lokks as though an ND filter was used but as you say the settings you used brought about a great shot.

Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.
