A beauty of a photo Dimps. The birds in the treetops really add to this already wonderful composition. It stands a very good chance of being the winner in the contest. Great.
It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination.
Wow. Simply that... wow. The competition for this Christmas image contest is really heating up (any more heat and there won't be any snow in this photo by the time voting starts). If this is evening then I'd say your prevailing wind is from the northwest, judging by that snow-packed trunk. Is that a sun dog on the left side of the trunk, between the bush and the tree's lowest branch? Good luck in the contest, not that you'll need it with this one.
Hey Jan...I do believe this is a winner! My gosh, you couldn't have taken a more perfect and beautiful photo! Not only the wonderful colour of the sky, but the tree with the snow clinging to it and the birds just make it. And the tree is the WOW factor for sure! Only thing I would suggest IMHO is to decrease the framing. I think it's a bit much, and I'd love to see this photo with a smaller border. Other then that... Absolute wonderful. Verena
You have produced a wonder from a simple tree! The plane in the far right distracts just a teeny bit; I guess that is part of today's nature :). Thank you for sharing this beauty.
